Fr. Athanasios Minetos

Fr. Athanasios Minetos was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. After graduating from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL, he went on to receive a BA in Religious Studies and a MDiv from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. It was there that he met his wife, Presvytera Nicole. After graduation in 2012, Fr. Athansios served as the chanter and pastoral assistant at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan, NY. In June of 2016, he was assigned to serve as the Associate Priest at St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago, where he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood. In December 2019 he was assigned as the associate Priest at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Des Plaines, IL. On October 1st, 2021, Fr. Athanasios was assigned as the Proistamenos (Presiding Priest) of St. Basil's Chicago.
