The Orthros Service: An Unique Church Ministry

Orthros Readers, members of St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, volunteer their talent in reading the Matins Service on Sunday mornings. The Orthros service begins at 8:15 a.m. and concludes with the reading of the Thanksgiving Prayers following the Divine Liturgy.

Orthros Readers may read the non-chanted verses in either English or Greek. A detailed list of the readings appears below.  Time commitment is currently once a month for each of our four readers.

8: The “Having beheld …” / Ἀνάστασιν Χριστοῦ θεασάµενοι
